"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day. And I believe in miracles."

Cheers!

On New Year's Eve, my sister decided to have a little cocktail party at her apartment in Long Beach.

It was just my sisters, cousin, boyfriend, and a few of my sister's friends.
Very small but so much fun.
We spent the majority of the night dancing.

We also had quite a spread of food.
Michelle asked me to help her with some sort of bacon-wrapped jalapeño concoction
that was quite amazing. There were also various chips, dips, and cookies.

Des, in particular, had a certain fascination with the spinach dip.
Somebody has a video of her dancing with it on the dance floor which is pretty amazing.

There is a goal I have been wanting to accomplish for awhile now, but have never
really had the chance. At midnight, however, the opportunity presented itself.

I accomplished goal
#075: Make a toast.

I added this to my list because, to me, a toast is a way of encapsulating
the festivity and the merriment of the current occasion, while at the same time
celebrating the people with whom you are sharing it, and, furthermore,
wishing for more moments like these to come.

Had I been a little more eloquent that night, that is something along the lines of
what I would have said hahaha. Instead I yelled out something cliché
that had to do with friends, family, a new year, and new beginnings and then...

proceeded to fall off of the chair on which I was standing (in slow motion, I think),
and flat onto the floor, knocking over a few chairs in the process.

I guess that is what I get for standing on a flimsy chair in four inch heels.
Here is the bruise I found on my bum the next day:
(for reference, it is about the size of an orange)

Such beautiful colors.

While it did not go as smoothly as planned, it was a pretty epic toast,
and I would not change it if I had the chance.
Perhaps one day I will deliver a mature, suave, and graceful toast...
but that would be kind of boring :)

Hope everyone had a happy new year!
