And We're Off!

I am leaving tomorrow at 9 AM for my 3-week trip across the continent.I should be packing up my room right now, but you all know how I love to procrastinate!
I just got back from saying goodbye to all of my friends.  It is crazy to think that this amazing experience we all shared is coming to an end...I became really close to many of the people in my program and I feel so luckythat I had the opportunity to get to know such amazing people. I am sad that we are all going back to our old lives, but I also know that the friendships we made are not ending any time soon. I can't wait to see everyone again, at home. We'll probably be at In N Out, Chipotle, or Sprinkles, if you're wondering. 
This week felt like it passed by at 100 MPH. My last final (a presentation) was on Thursday, and with the end of that final also came the end of the semester, the end of my exchange program, and the end of college.That is a lot to take in! This week I also went to my internship at the daycare for the last time.




The teacher asked them if they had anything to say to me. So, one by one, the students walked to the front of the class and gave me a personal goodbye.Here are some highlights:
"Quiero decir que... que... te quiero"I want to say that... that... I love you
"Te quiero tanto"I love you a lot
"Te quiero hasta las estrellas"I love you to the stars
"Te quiero hasta la luna"I love you to the moon
"Te quiero hasta el sol"I love you to the sun
"Te quiero hasta el cielo"I love you to the heavens
"Eres muy linda"You are very beautiful
"Su ropa es linda"Your clothes are beautiful
"Me gusta su pelo... es muy linda"I like your hair... it is very beautiful
Yeah, I just about died. It was very likely the sweetest thing that I've ever witnessed.Saying goodbye to them was different than saying goodbye to my friends becauseI know that I will never see them again. I wonder what will become of them? Who will teach them the ending to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star???
But I guess that is life. So many people come into our lives but some stay and some go. And some, we just talk to on Facebook. HAHAHA.
Okay, sorry, its late and I'm getting delirious haha.I'll try to keep the world updated on my whereabouts during the next three weeks but I am not quite sure how easy Internet-access will be.

and today I finally cracked.
Boyfriend is visiting his family in Sac-townso I am alone and bored in his apartment.

I suppose I should be spending this time studying for finals

but I am pretending that I am being productive because

baking has always been a great form of stress-relief for me.

(This excludes holiday baking, which is definitely stress-inducing)

I haven't baked for fun in a very long time.

It felt nice :)

Everybody is Stupid Except Me

Last weekend Bryan & I lounged around his apartment

and watched the entire first season of Modern Family.

Okay so this show is sooo funny. My favorite characters are Gloria and Lily.
I love Gloria because, well, she reminds me of my relatives hahaha and I love Lily because
WHO DOESN'T LOVE ADORABLE KOREAN VIETNAMESE BABIES?!
(also she kind of reminds me of Melissa as a baby hehehe)


  

My favorite scene so far was when Luke put on the noise-canceling
headphones and didn't realize everybody could hear him talking:
"Everybody is stupid. Except me. I am funny. Ha. Ha. Ha."

Weekend goal: watch the second season.

I have another goal this weekend... actually I started working on it last Sunday
but it ended up taking a lot longer than I had expected! (Hint: it entails a LOT of reading)
 I set it aside this week so I could focus on school but maybe I can get it done this weekend?

One of those weeks

Oh hey there. It's me. I am still alive ...barely.

I have been kind of MIA recently because my school/work schedule has turned my life 

I actually think I could manage if all I had to do was go to school and work,

but there are a few things that throw the whole thing out of wack -- 

you know, eating, sleeping, driving, having a social life... to name a few.

I am pretty sure I have bitten off more than I can chew (something I will
rarely admit), but for now I am just going to keep chewing.

 Until I throw up or something. 

Needless to say, I have been slacking on the whole Day Zero Project.

There's a goal that I have been working on, but it is one of those things

you need to work on for a few days. I will try and finish up soon, I promise!

Ta ta for now. I hope your autumn is getting off to a better start than mine.

Can't wait to wake up tomorrow ( at 6 AM...) and guzzle down one of these:

P.S. Does it make it any better that I kind of love all of my classes?

found a new pie recipe to try (French Silk!),

and checked Perez more often than he could possibly update.

Thaaaat's how you can tell I have a midterm tomorrow.
