"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day. And I believe in miracles."

Sepia toned lovin'

I have met so many people in college --
some nice, some strange, some I would rather never see again,
and others I never want to forget...

The majority of my close friends were made during my freshman year.
This is when we all lived in dorms, when nobody knew
anybody else, and when we were forced, for the first time in
our lives, to rely on strangers for the support and companionship we
had always received while living with our families.

Since then, I have remained good friends with the same small group of
W O N D E R F U L
girls.  I befriended another girl last year that my roommates and
I found on craigslist, which worked out way better than we could have imagined.
Case in point, she still lives with me today.

I am writing now to talk about
how I became good friends with a girl this year.

I have always known who she was because she was a mutual friend.
Still just acquaintances, we became housemates last summer.
It is hard to discern when a true friendship begins, but all I know
is that sometime during the past year that we have lived together,
I have come to acknowledge this girl as just that -- a true friend.

This girl is intelligent and can convince you that anything she says is true
(so it is fitting that she is going to law school next year!).
She is silly, loves to joke around, and would spend
every moment at the beach, barbecuing and sharing laughs
with her best friends, if she could. She is generous and understanding
and happens to be one of my favorite people to go to for advice.

Overall, I am so glad that our lives have crossed and I sincerely
hope that this girl is someone I will remain friends with in the years to come.

So Emily, thanks for helping me accomplish goal:
#071: Make a new friend.
