Nana Gets Her Drink On

Visiting Viña Concha y Toro was one of my favorite experiences in Chile
so, of course, I had to take my mom & nana there when they came to visit!
To be quite honest, the title of this post is a big fat lie because my nana
doesn't drink, like AT ALL! She loved the tour, though, and do not fret -- no wine
was wasted in the making of this blog post! Hehehe cough*mom drank it all*cough

Our tour was a little fancier than the one I went on with my school --
we had a private sommelier give us a lesson about wine and we also
received a platter of cheeses, nuts, and crackers so that we could learn
how to pair wine with certain foods. While it was a fun experience,
I didn't really enjoy the wine. The white wine was delicious, but I am a
big fan of red wine and their vino tinto just didn't do it for me...
The cheeses were yummy though! Ask my nana :)

Red, Red Wine

Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit a beautiful vineyard with my program.

The viña we visited is called Concha y Toro. Not only is it the
largest producer of wines in Latin America, it also happens to be one of
the most well-known wine brands in the world. Ooh lala...

These grapes were so delicious...
I actually asked our tour guide if they sold them in the souvenir shop hahaha.
They didn't, but he did pick a handful for me to eat!

The next shot is of me and my small group (one of eight in the program),
which is led by a Chilean student (pink tank top).
She is amazing and secretly speaks perfect english so I feel like a
complete idiot every time I have to talk to her in my broken spanish haha.

Anyway, I can't wait to take my mom and my nana
here when they come visit me in March!!!!
