The NYC diet -- pancakes, cupcakes, and pizza

Just another day in NYC...

We had brunch/linner in an adorable restaurant called Georgies that day. It was really dark inside but there were Christmas lights strung every which way, which created a really relaxing ambiance.
 
 I can almost taste those pancakes now :)
And the hot cocoa!! MMMMM!    
Because we ate at such a leisurely pace, it was already dark by the time we left. Without any real idea of how to spend the rest of our evening, we wandered over to SoHo. It was freeeeeeezing outside!!! In typical Thompkins fashion, we ducked into the first cupcake shoppe we found.

 I had a dark chocolate cupcake (which wasn't as good as the one from Sprinkles, my absolute faveee) and Melissa had a raspberry swirled cheesecake

Des got a plain cheesecake and my mom had a coconut cucpake

That night as we shopped around some of Soho's bustling streets we had the first glimpse of what soon became my absolute favorite thing about New York: Dean & Deluca.  How else could it be described but as every food-lover's paradise? More to come later.

We went to a comedy club that night, which was a new experience for all of us. It was seriously soooo much fun!!! (or maybe that had more to do with the two drink minimum per person...) Before calling it a night, we stopped to have a slice or two, as any true New Yorker would do. We spoke with New York accents the entire time. Can't you tell by the expression on Desiree's face???
 
 I guess it sounds like we did nothing but eat. But I swear we did a lot of walking!!!! Haha.Anyway. It was one of our best days there.
