"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day. And I believe in miracles."

Give me a smile, pussycat

Today I set out to accomplish
# 070. Smile at everyone I see for an entire day.

On Tuesdays I walk to and from campus twice, so there
was plenty of opportunity for smiling at people...

But, let me tell you, this is a lot harder than it sounds!
First of all, it is impossible to smile at someone because nobody makes
eye contact with you! And if they do happen to catch your glance, they avert their
eyes so quickly that you don't have the chance to smile.

Most of the people that actually saw me smile at them either
a) turned their head away because they thought I was a crazy person, or
b) stared at me incredulously, like I was a crazy person.
(Little do they know, I actually am a crazy person!)

Funny things I noticed were that guys would usually give me a double take,
probably under the impression that I was hitting on them. I also noticed that the few people that smiled back at me kind of resembled me. I know that sounds crazy, but they
were mostly hispanic girls with long dark hair. Weird, right? I think it has to do
with the theory that people feel more comfortable around people they identify
with. I learned that in a Communication class, I think.

I am going to put more of an effort into smiling at people.
Its pretty sad that people don't even look up when you pass them on the sidewalk.

Because, really, how hard is it to look up
and smile or greet the people you see?

In other news, sorry it took me so long to finally update!
I am going to try to be better about this.

As a matter of fact, I have a couple goals that I plan to accomplish later
this week. So you should check back in a few days for more :)

Oh! And if you were wondering, yes, my halloween was amazing.

Now I am just trying to contain my
excitement for the rest of the holiday season!

Despite you already telling me all this on the phone, I still enjoyed reading it :) I don't see how this task was hard for you since you are giggling all the time anyway, but I guess you directed it at different people today.

P.S. We are definitely doing some food related tasks this Thursday! We have to start going to other restaurants besides Chili's and CPK haha.

P.P.S. Sexy costumes ;)
