I follow waaaay too many food blogs for my own good/health.
I think I have been using them to fill the void in my life
that used to be filled by hours upon hours of watching
Bobby, Giada, Paula, and Ina cook away on the Food Network
(I don't have a TV in my room this year).
A couple of people have commented that
I am torturing myself by looking at these blogs because
I have given up baked goods for lent. And you know what?
They are right! haha :/
But some of these recipes are just too good to pass up!
For example, I found a recipe for
on one of my favorite food blogs, For the Love of Cooking.
I love making blueberry muffins and I thought it would be
cruel not to share these muffins with the world.
Lucky for him, Bryan came to visit me in Santa Barbara this weekend.
He brought me these beauties for our one year anniversary....
(tulips are my favorite!)
Bryan and I drove over to the the farmer's market
at the Camino Real Marketplace on sunday afternoon
because I didn't have any blueberries for the muffins.
Oh! Waddya know! That was on my list!
008. Buy fresh fruit from a farmer's market
I used to go to a lot of street fairs when I was younger
(my mom used to sell her jewelry!)
and I have always loved the local/community
feeling that you get from them. I knew that there was a farmer's
market in Goleta but I never took the time to go visit it.
It was a beautiful day and the farmer's market
was bustling with activity. I really should go there more often.
Bryan bought raspberries & strawberries so that he could
recreate Jamba Juice's Razzmatazz. His smoothie turned out amazing, btw.
And I, of course, bought blueberries!
The muffins were a hit (thanks Pam!). I may or may not have taken advantage of
sunday cheat day to taste test one... heehee :)
I always knew sundays were my favorite...
